Built on Care, Guided by Kindness
Oakridge was founded with a single purpose — to create a home where elderly Singaporeans are treated with the dignity, warmth, and attention they deserve.
Back to HomeOur Story
Oakridge began as a conversation between two families in Singapore's Bukit Timah neighbourhood. Both were navigating the complex, emotional process of finding proper care for ageing parents — and both felt that the options available didn't quite fit what they were looking for. The homes they visited were clean and professional, but they lacked something harder to define: warmth, personal attention, and a real understanding of how much daily routines and cultural customs matter to older adults.
From that frustration came a decision to create something different. In 2017, Oakridge opened its doors at 33 Upper Bukit Timah Road with twelve residents and a small team of caregivers who shared a commitment to listening before acting. The founding principle was simple: get to know each person as an individual before drafting a single care plan. That principle hasn't changed.
Today, Oakridge serves a growing community of seniors and their families across three services — residential living, seasonal respite stays, and our Tea & Talk social programme. Our team has expanded, but the approach remains the same. We still start every relationship with a conversation, not a checklist. We still believe that care should be shaped around the person, not the schedule. And we still believe that the best measure of what we do isn't found in a report — it's visible in the way residents carry themselves through their day.
Singapore is home to a richly diverse population, and our residents reflect that diversity. Our kitchen serves Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Peranakan dishes. Our communal spaces host celebrations for Hari Raya, Lunar New Year, Deepavali, and Christmas. We don't just accommodate cultural differences — we see them as part of what makes our community whole.

Safety & Fall Prevention
Handrails, non-slip flooring, emergency call systems, and trained staff are in place throughout the home to support safe movement at all times.
Health Monitoring
Regular health checks, medication management, and coordination with external healthcare providers keep residents' wellbeing front and centre.
Privacy & Data Protection
We handle all resident and family information in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), ensuring records are secure and confidential.
Nutrition Standards
Meals are prepared following dietary guidelines for older adults, with attention to nutritional balance, texture needs, and cultural preferences.
Staff Training
All caregivers complete training in elder care, first aid, and cultural sensitivity. Ongoing development is part of our commitment to professional standards.
What We Believe In
Elderly care in Singapore sits at a crossroads. Families are smaller, working adults carry heavier responsibilities, and older adults are living longer with more complex needs. Finding the right care arrangement is no longer a simple decision — it involves balancing health concerns, cultural expectations, emotional bonds, and practical realities. At Oakridge, we recognise that families come to us during one of the more sensitive chapters of their lives, and we treat that trust seriously.
Our approach is built on three core values. The first is respect — for each resident's identity, preferences, and life history. The second is transparency — in how we communicate, how we manage care plans, and how we handle fees. The third is community — because wellbeing isn't just about physical health; it's about belonging, connection, and purpose.
We work closely with each family to understand their expectations and concerns. We adapt care as needs evolve, and we keep communication open and honest. We are not a facility that runs on rigid protocols. We are a home where people live, and every decision we make starts from that recognition.
